At Everyday Nutrition, consultations are designed to give you more than just a meal plan — they’re about understanding your story, your symptoms, and your lifestyle so we can create a plan that truly works for you.
Whether you’re dealing with IBS, navigating food intolerances, exploring the low FODMAP or low histamine diet, adjusting your eating during menopause, or wanting to support your gut with an anti-inflammatory approach, you’ll find a safe, supportive space here.
Every consultation is tailored to your unique needs, with practical strategies that fit into everyday life. My goal is to take the stress out of eating, help you feel more confident with food, and give you the tools to manage your symptoms long-term.

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes appointments need to be changed. To ensure fairness and allow other clients the opportunity to book in, the following cancellation policy applies:
Cancellations made with less than 12 hours’ notice or non-attendance (no show) will be charged the full consultation fee (100%).
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a 50% fee of the consultation cost.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Joanna is registered with Medicare. Clients with a Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from their GP can claim a partial rebate (note we do not bulk bill). Private health insurance rebates may also be available depending on your fund and cover type. You do not need a referral to claim from your private health fund.
You do not need a referral from your doctor to book an appointment with Joanna. If you plan to claim a rebate from your private health fund, a referral is not required. However, if you wish to claim a rebate from Medicare, you will need a referral from your GP and a Chronic Disease Management Plan.
Yes, we consult with clients all around Australia. We use a secure platform called Coviu for all virtual consultations. You don’t need to download any software — we’ll simply send a link that opens in any browser on your computer, phone, or tablet. For clients in Melbourne, we also offer face-to-face appointments on Wednesdays at Honeycomb Health in Burwood 3125
Our services are primarily aimed at adults. We do see school age children for IBS and food intolerances as long as they do not have other underlying health conditions.
Your first appointment is a collaborative journey where we take the time to understand your unique story. Together, we’ll review your health history, current symptoms, and goals. From there, we’ll create a realistic, practical plan tailored to you. This may involve adjusting your current meals, sharing meal and snack ideas (with recipes), and reviewing whether supplements might be started, adjusted, or discontinued. If needed, we may also recommend further tests or medications to discuss with your doctor.
Joanna specialises in a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), food intolerances (such as Low FODMAP and RPAH/Histamine diets) and gut-related symptoms like bloating, constipation, and diarrhoea. She also has a focus on the connection between gut health, hormones, and women’s health, particularly during perimenopause and menopause.
We understand that life happens and you may need to cancel or reschedule. To allow us to offer your appointment time to someone else, we ask that you give as much notice as possible. You can cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment at no cost. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice incur a 50% fee, while cancellations with less than 12 hours’ notice—or failure to attend—will be charged the full appointment fee.
Our comprehensive online intake form covers most of the information we need. To make your appointment as productive as possible, please bring or email any referrals or test results beforehand. It can also be helpful to come with a list of specific questions or topics you want to discuss.
We believe that you are in charge of your health journey. While we may suggest an elimination diet like the Low FODMAP or a low Histamine diet to help identify your specific triggers, our approach is always collaborative. If you are not comfortable with a restrictive diet, we will discuss and explore other evidence-based options. Our ultimate aim is to help you build a balanced, diverse, and sustainable eating pattern so you can enjoy food without fear or stress
Your first appointment, whether it be online or in clinic, will last for about 1 hour and always starts with an in-depth assessment. We want to get to know you so that we can tailor advice to fit your specific needs.
Your health, your lifestyle, your concerns, your goals – I want to know all about you. The most important thing to know about this assessment, is that our clinic is a “no judgment zone”. We are gut health dietitians because we love food. If you ate a pizza last week, all we want to know is how good it was and how your gut handled it.
We discuss your situation, what is likely going on and what your options are to move forward and meet your goals. This is done together, it’s not about me dictating what you should do. It’s your body and you’re in charge. I’m here to support you to make decisions and then implement them.
Once we know what the path is, I then provide practical guidance on how to implement it, e.g. how to tweak current meals, meal and snack suggestions, recipes, products, supplements, etc.
What has worked, what hasn’t, are we on track or do we need to change something, are your goals still the same or have they changed, etc.
Get back to enjoying food and life again!
